The Richard Limo story (updated)
The one on the left... dark face, white T shirt is a very nasty cheat.
This is the one who told us in Djibouti that he was Richard Limo, the ex-world record holder for the 5,000 metres. As readers in Dutch will know, we bumped into him in Dar Es Salaam last week in his new guise as a Maasai dancer, living in Germany with a business interest in Christmas trees and connections to the Christian Church.
The sad news is that we can confirm that he has swindled a local shopkeeper (J) of almost USD 1,000 (of his wife's money) and has done a runner. J seems quite philosophical about what has happened. We just think that it is a pity that we did not arrive here one day earlier, but are glad that we played a part in minimising his losses.

I think he really appreciated that you helped him to minimize his losses. It happened so unexpectedly for him, he didn't know what to do and your help was very good for him.
I observe Richard Limo's life and really admire his achievements. This story shows that he has strong character and even in difficult situations can find a way out.
Richard Limos life was one of fascination.
