Here is a nice photo of Fred and myslef under the trees at the Langemark German WW1 cemetry, taken on his birthday a week ago.

I think that as many Germans died in WW1 as the British and Empire troops but 80% were never identified, denying their families the cahnce to show their respects at the grave of a family member.
