All pink for the Giro

Amsterdam went pink this weekend to commemorate the starting of the first three races in the Giro d'Italia.

The first race was a time trial through the streets of Amsterdam, with cyclists going off every two minutes or so, one-by-one, making for a nice long drawn out spectacle. Lots of people were oiut on the streets watching despite it being a cold grey day, the likes of which we have had too much the past few days...

I spent some tiem wandering around the Start area, watching the cyclists coming and going and warming up and cooling down, followed by meeting up with friends for a beer half way along the route.
