Christmas market under the Dom in Koln
Taken this afternoon in a twenty minute break between my train arriving from Dusseldorf and the train going to Paris. Photo uploaded from my computer with a wifi connection for the first class compartment of the Thalys.
Passed through beautiful hills and valleys in eastern Belgium, all covered in snow in a near empty compartment. Now speeding down from Brussels to Paris, with the train full of Frenchies on their way home...

Very evocative image. it's distinctly modern, but evokes the feeling one can image that for centuries there has been a market there, more or less the same today as long ago, occurring beside the grey, hulking cathedral in the season of Advent.
Unbelievable image, I've been told the Christmas market under the Dom in Koln is beautiful but really this looks magical. All it's missing is a light sprinkling of snow and it would be beyond words.
