Here are a couple of examples of the fine art which can be found in this city of Hanoi. The paintings are mostly oil paintings or lacquer and are usually very colourful. Favourite themes seem to be streets in the Old Quarter, women, village scenes, children with buffalo and flowers or flowering trees. Most of them are very large and many are very beautiful. Cheap by Western standards at about $ 500- $ 2,000 including the impressive frames. $ 300 for shipment to Europe with frame, $ 100 without.
